Trick or Treat!

I feel like this was Olivia's first Halloween, but it was her second! I guess because we actually did activities with her this time around. Thankfully we have our great friends so we had our First Annual Halloween Party play date with them!  We went to Stacy's house and she had a GREAT Halloween spread for us! Great food and candy!!  Of course I didn't' say no.....diet be dammed!  Olivia got to see and play with Wyatt, Kathryn, and Morgan. I think we are getting to the age where they are going to fight over toys and not want to share. Olivia gladly shared that behavior for us all when she didn't  want to share a toy with Wyatt. It wasn't even about giving the toy to Wyatt. It was just about playing with the toy together. Well, Miss Sassy didn't was to play together. She was a little bit ticked off. But it did end and our play date continued.

During the evening Olivia went Trick or Treating at two houses :-)  We just went to our neighbors. We then ended up staying at the neighbors house, sitting on the driveway handing out candy. Olivia LOVED that! She loved watching all the kids and running up and down the sidewalk! When she got to far on the sidewalk, I"d say, "Where's daddy"?, then she would turn around and run back to daddy! I wish I had more pictures of our evening.

I am also sharing picture from last year. We went over to our other great friends house. What a big difference a year makes!

Practicing with her pom pom!

Giving her good friend Kathryn some crazy sassy look...

This amazing food that none of us could resist!! And look at the goody pails she made with their names!!  Thank you Stacy!!  :-)

Daddy and Olivia, Halloween evening!

This is the only night time picture I got :(  She loved holding her glow stick and running around watching all the trick-or-treaters!!

My partner in crime!

I realize I have been a bad blogger. Hence the reason why I only have 10 followers..and maybe only 2 or 3 actually read. But thats ok. This is mostly just for friends and family so they can see some cute pictures of Olivia and maybe read some of my thoughts. So what a great way to jump back into the blog world and share about our antics..... and breaking the law.

I needed to go to Party City to get a piece of her Halloween costume. Little Miss Sassy girl is starting to become a bit more fidgety in the shopping carts. She doesn't last long so I need to do anything and give her anything to keep her occupied in the seat so I can get shopping done.  I will usually hand her random items that look interesting to her. Sometimes that doesn't work so I always make sure to have snacks on hand. Well, one of those random items got a little bit lost in the shopping cart. She was sitting on it....out of sight, out of mind, for me and Miss Sassy.

We left Party City and headed right over to Bed Bath and Beyond. I kept her right in the same shopping cart. It was only like a 50 yard walk...why change shopping carts??   As we were looking for cabinet organizers she leans over to reach for something...and lo and behold...the random item!  Did I think about returning it? Yes I did. Did I physically return it? Nope. Please know that I do understand that this was very wrong. Had Miss Sassy and fidgety been older I could have used it as a teaching experience and told her that we didn't pay for this and we need to return it immediately! It belongs in the store unless it is paid for. But, she is not older and the only thing that she would care about is that she is hating sitting in the darn shopping cart and will scream any min! So our teaching experience was that these are sunglasses and you wear them over your eyes. :-)

Birthday party fever!!

Literally....fever!  It was about 120 degrees outside that day! Now that I think about it..it was hot when I brought Olivia home from the hospital. I remember her only wearing a side snap shirt and a diaper all day. It was HOT all september. So why did a play an outdoor party?  I just dont know.  Unless I am living ON the beach, Olivia will not be having any more outdoor partys.
The cute cake bunting is from A Pitite Soiree

Here it is! It was all held under this little awning. Notice how nobody is standing outside of the shaded area....

Everyone loves a taco man!!

Awesome cake huh??  Its made by Cookies Supreme!

Besides the heat, I think the party turned out nice. Most all my friends came. they totally came to celebrate with us in the heat! Those are great friends!!  And lets not forget my sister,  mom and step dad!  They were out there with me since the morning (it was hot then too) setting up and hanging things! There would be no way I could have had that party if they were not there.

Thank you everyone who came to celebrate with us. It means a lot. We are just so happy to have her in our life!  XOXO

I'm an award winner!!

Well....not really.. :)

But my lovely sister nominated me for the Liebster award!  I dont really know if I even win an award but oh well...I"ll play!  This award goes to people who have less than 200 followers. For sure that's me!

So instead of working on my credential classes...I"ll write a blog about this award and answer some questions!  Thank you Lisa!!  :-)

Here is what I do know... "Liebster" is a German word meaning sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing and welcome.  The award is given to up-and-coming bloggers with less than 200 followers who deserve some recognition and support to keep on blogging.  The rules for accepting the Liebster award are as follows:

1. Each person must post 11 things about themselves.
2. Answer the questions the tagger sent for them, plus create 11 new questions for the people you tag.
3. Choose 11 people and link them in your post.
4. Notify the people you have tagged. (Obviously)

So here goes....

ELEVEN THINGS ABOUT ME:

  • I am not really new to blogging! I started a blog in 2008. It's all about how I got Olivia! If you're curious....Pokes and Prods, check it out :)
  • Talking with my sister in funny voices while in public places is my favorite pastime.
  • I really do have a "toe thumb". I once had a student ask me what happened to my thumb.

BLOG FRIENDS OF MY CHOOSING

Now I am supposed to pick friends to nominate for this award. However this is impossible for me to do because I only have nine followers and all of them most definitely have 200 followers. So I cannot choose anyone. I wonder if this means that I cannot will the award now..... :)  (yes I am aware that I used different font)

Dog Days of Summer!

Our dog days of summer are almost coming to an end though :( Even though I look forward to a new season it's always kinda sad when when one ends. It always reminds me just how fast time goes! Then I always think that I wish I did more with my time, and with Olivia. % (worlds smallest violin)

Well....We have gotten out and enjoyed these nice warm days! And since we live close to the beach I"m glad we had a chance to go visit it!  We went to Newport Dunes! It's a waveless beach! It's absolutely wonderful for mommas and young children. In the beginning of summer I did take olivia to the real beach by myself ( remind me not to go alone again!). With waves!! And of course I wasn't  really paying attention for a split minute and we got smacked down by a wave. But dont fret...Olivia didn't go underwater or get hurt or anything! The water just came up a little higher that I would have liked it and it was super cold! Wasn't prepared for that. So...in the meantime....we like waveless beaches!!

Here are some photos from our recent trip to Newport Dunes! Olivia and I went with our new wonderful friends (I wonder when they will not be new anymore).  I'm so happy to have them!  All the pictures were taken with my iPhone.

Um...I especially love this one of Morgan practicing her gymnastics!

All the kids!

We rented a little cabana. It was really  nice!

Thanks for looking at my  pictures! Now I"m off to work on more birthday stuff!!  OMG just two more weeks!

Cabin Fever!

Haha..not really!!  The cabin was as cute as can be and the surroundings were beautiful!!

~ It is time for me to update this blog!!  My lovely sister nominated me for a Liebster Award! How sweet is that? I guess that means I need to get this blogs act together! I do know that Liebster means, dearest. I guess this award is for new, up and coming blogs for people with less than 200 followers. And I"m most definitely sure I fit into that criteria :) Thank you Lisa!! Maybe there is another special award for people with less than 10 followers.........

OK, Cabin Fever! The week of August 13 was filled with lots of excitement :-)

Excitement #1 -- Olivias first large boo boo :(

I"m thinking Olivia is pretty close to becoming a toddler. She is walking around everywhere! However,  still doesn't have the best balance. Because of this lack of balance.....she fell, which she does quite a bit, but this time she actually had a mark to prove it :-/ It made me so sad to see that mark on her eye..  :( Luckily she's like a vampire and it healed super quick!!

Her war wound..:(  But I golf cart ride with Grandpa makes everything better.

Excitement #2 - Cabin adventures!
Top of the mountain!

Baby in the backpack!!

Excitement #3 -- Last but not least!.....

Yep...It is a bit darker than I though. but It'll fade a bit as I wash it. I had to come to terms with the fact that I am not a SAHM....gonna have to forgo my fancy salon coloring...even though my colorist is the best! I"m sure I'll be back!
